One to Wake Me Up
The Little Book of Love, p. 64
She was the dream I had been waiting for–
the one to wake me up.
The Bon-spiration
In the early days of Bon Bon Bon, Saturdays were the end of my week. I’d prep retail, make deliveries to and pickup produce from Eastern Market, and always stop by Germack for a very delicious and very necessary dirty chai. It’s not usually what I drink at a coffee shop, but they make them extra delicious. It was one to wake me up — I had found what I was searching for, I had opened the shop I had been dreaming up for almost a decade! But actually doing life can be exhausting. It made me think that when you are looking for the dream that you are searching for, being with the one who can wake you up is not optional, it’s essential. I like how this poem captured that and it added a sense of poetry to all those Eastern Market memories. And so, we went with a dreamy chai caramel, spiced just right.
