True to their name, we do feel a bit like we grew up with Sister Pie! Lisa opened the beloved bakery in 2012 out of her parents’ kitchen and we, along with the whole world, have adored them ever since. Similarly, in 2014, Alex started BBB in the back of a Coney Island. More than a decade later, we can’t even begin to count the times we’ve crossed paths at events, tradeshows, dinners, or any major gathering of Detroit foodies.
Two extraordinarily scrappy, Detroit-based, women-owned businesses just absolutely… figuring sh*t out on the fly. We can confidently say we've both celebrated wins and drowned many a hard day/night with a slice of SP pie and a hot cup of coffee.
With our shared love of seasonal local produce, exquisite taste in DET neighborhoods, and a penchant for doing things “the hard way,” one might even spot a bit of a resemblance! This year we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the honor of working closely with Sister Pie to craft twelve limited-edition Bons based on some of their most favorite recipes, just in time for pie season! You’ll find familiar favorites like Banana Pete, Salted Maple, and Ruby Thursday — even a Pocococoa bar that’s our simple love letter to their ~perfect~ pie crust.
Really though, the whole box is a love letter. Both to Sister Pie, and to you Detroit! Neither of us could be here without ya, so we put some extra love into this one. We hope you enjoy!!
