UPS is our shipping provider. You can calculate approximate costs and shipping times depending on the speed you choose here.
Returns are accepted for non-perishable items within 30 days of purchase. We unfortunately cannot accept returns for any perishable item, but that doesn't mean you're stuck! We sincerely care about your experience. If something went wrong (lost package, melting, missing/incorrect item(s), etc.), contact us! Tell us what went wrong and what we can do to make things right. We aren't joking when we say that we sincerely care about your experience. While we hate when things go wrong, we really do love fixing things. So, reach out and we'll help.
There are currently two ways to pick the flavors in your box:
If you're local to Michigan, visit us in one of our Shops! The pick-your-own-Bons experience is available in-store.
Or maybe you're asking about building your own boxes of Bons for a wedding, shower, work event, or other special occasion where you're looking for a bunch of boxes? We do that! Check out our Large Orders page and/or email Sales@bonbonbon.com to tell us more about your vision.
Here's a bit of Bon Bon Bon history for ya while you're here: We used to have a "Box Builder" feature on an earlier version of our website. And then, given the fresh and hand-made nature of our Bons, it became too difficult for our small-but-mighty team to stock our website so that anyone could order anything at any time. We switched to offering curated Boxes of Bon Bon Bons and we have been working behind the scenes to see (if! when! how!) we can bring back this oft-requested feature, so thanks for your patience <3
Update: we really HAVE been working on this and we are almost ready to "hard launch" the return of this feature! If you're reading this and would like to hear more (and maybe help us test it out?) email us at bonbonbon@bonbonbon.com and ask about "Box Builder."
In general, we request up to 3 business days to fulfill orders before shipping via your selected speed. We ship Monday - Thursday to avoid Bons getting stuck or melting over the weekend.Â
 Here's "the Bon and short of it":
Delivery Date = Order Date + [days for fulfillment] + [days in transit]
We can predict how long it will take us to fulfill your order, and you can choose your desired speed for UPS to ship your order. Use your target delivery date to work backwards and decide when to order!
What is "fulfillment?" We want you to know that it takes time for us prep + pack your order before we hand the package over to UPS. This doesn't happen instantly! We request up to 3 days to fulfill orders: sometimes we fulfill same-day, and sometimes it takes us 2 or 3 days. And, this means orders placed Thursday - Sunday will likely ship the following week.
What is "transit?" If you select a speedy shipping method like UPS Next Day Air, it means that after 1-3 days (that's fulfillment!), we will ship your order and UPS will deliver it the next day. It will spend 1 day in transit! It doesn't mean your order will appear the day after you place it -- we still need time to fulfill your order! UPS 2nd Day Air has a 2-day transit time. UPS Ground transit times vary by distance from Detroit and range from 1-5 days.
PS -- are you local? We offer in-store pick up, too, so you can skip the shipping part altogether! In-store pickup orders are typically ready within 24 hours.

Oof, not right now. We used to ship to our Canadian neighbors, but only when temps were cooler (so, late fall through early spring).
Even though worldwide shipping was an option in the past, we disabled after experiencing immense difficulties: orders getting stuck in customs, cost-prohibitive fees on your part + ours, and the biggest culprit: melting. Chocolate melts when exposed to temps above 70F which makes it really tricky to ship chocolate outside of the US! We utilize insulated coolers and ice packs for domestic orders, but those aren't enough to protect international shipments for their longer journeys. And unfortunately, current restrictions prohibit us from sending dry ice across borders.
That's why we are so cautious: we sometimes open up shipments to Canada with a flat rate that covers shipping plus associated customs fees and duties, but for the most part, the answer to this question remains, "Not right now."

We're slowly making improvements behind the scenes and hope to re-enable shipping to more countries soon!
Of course! There are two ways to do this:
Option 1: Add a handwritten note on special card (designed just for us!) for $2. From any item's page, scroll to the Attach a card section, select your desired card (and/or wrap with Gift Tape), and write your note in the Message box that appears. Our cards are similar in size to a baseball card and we'll limit the characters here so we can handwrite to fit on the card.Â
Option 2:Add a complimentary message during checkout and we'll print it on your packing slip. Use the shopping cart icon in the upper right corner to navigate toYour Cart. Scroll down and look for the text box. Anything in that box will be printed on your packing slip, so feel free to compose a cutie note and don't forget to sign your name!

We ship Monday - Thursday to reduce any chances of your order getting stuck in transit over the weekend and turning into chocolate soup.
We send tracking information via email or text depending on your request at checkout. That way you can follow your box's journey from wherever you are!Â
Remember that fulfillment and shipping are different. While we ship Monday - Thursday, we need to make and package orders. That's the fulfillment part! Most of the year, we fulfill orders within 1-3 days.
All Bons are made to order and therefore it may take us a bit longer than you expect to ship out your order. Please allow us extra time during to fulfill your orders during any chocolate-gifting holiday seasons, and from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting our handmade process.Â
Yes! Head to Checkout and select your preferred Pickup location! Only the locations with available inventory will show up as an option. If you aren't seeing what you expected to see, give us a ring at 313-316-1430 ext. 3 and we can assist!
Yes! You can order online and select In-store Pick Up when you check out.
But wait, there's more... All Bons in the shops are sold a la carte, so we can help you replicate an online Bon Box in-person rather than ordering online in advance. And while we may not have all the flavors you see on the website on the day you visit, we can certainly help you construct a box of your dreams. Who knows, perhaps you might even discover a new Bon by visiting us in person!
