2024 is in the Books!

It's hard to believe it's over but 2024 was kind of exceptional for a number of reasons.

First, we turned the big 1-0 which was awesome! Something about that felt incredibly validating. We celebrated in style with a cake from Sweet Heather Anne (and not just because we missed her so much after we collaborated on the Bon Bon Bon Spring Collection together). Some things were same-old but new and wonderful like our chocolate-y Valentine's Collaboration with Detroit's own  Jon Kung of Kung Food who's soul is sweeter and deeper than the darkest chocolate truffle. And, parts of it were new like meeting and not realizing were were meeting and then having to re-meet the artist we fangirl so hard, Jordan Sondler, and having the opportunity to collab with her amazing work and brain and feelings on the very same collection. Truly a dream! We aren't sure what we will do with her again quite yet but it's sure to be something!

Then, after being featured in a commercial for Adobe,  we hit summer and chilled at Belle Isle, did a little shopping and lazing around town and released (finally) our long awaited and unofficially very official Detroit Collection which was not just an excuse to have our hometown princess of creative imagination and beauty, Indigo Kerr, bring our work and town to life through illustration... or was it? If you don't know what we mean about her local on-point creation of wonderfulness, check these out.

And yeah, we're not really "from Detroit", we're from Hamtramck, which is inside of Detroit but also inside of Michigan - the place we call home and where we try to source just about anything but chocolate from. There are so many delicious ingredients here and sometimes it's hard to believe that such beauty actually grows on trees (or pasture, or bushes... you get it!). We worked with the incredible minds at Granor Farm including the one and only Abra Berens to create a collection highlighting not only delicious, fresh, local Michigan produce from them (as well as their neighbors) but also their really beautiful approach to growing and sharing food and the culinary arts with the wider community. Perhaps the hilight of the year was drinking wine in the sun before a farm dinner out to celebrate the collection launch. Oooh wait no, maybe it was getting to launch it at Pewabic. That was cool. Having a century own center of quality and craft host the launch of your own work is more than a cool thing!

Don't go thinking we are too classy though - we brought it on home with (largely Victoria and Juan's) genius interpretation of what we might want to call "good ol Midwestern family classics" in a "wintery mix" of high end gourmet chocolate bonbons that we hoped were perfect for gifting (to even the weirdest relative you love and adore). Pretzel Salad, anyone? Is the year really over if you don't have pretzel salad? Depends on where you are from. And we are from here.

Although our operational year doesn't truly begin until February 15th (aka the first day of the rest of our lives) it's technically already 2025 and we are so excited to share everything that we have in store for you.

Just when you want to ask "How is it 2025" you look back and realize 2024 was jam packed with all this Bon-ness. 🍫✨👏🏽
