Bon Flavor 31

PB & Jam

Strawberry confiture, honey-roasted peanut gianduja

Description

Once upon a time in one of the most special kitchens in all of The Southern Hemisphere, one of the most special Kiwi tweens there ever was (who later grew up into quite a talented professional baker who even interned at Bon Bon Bon) found herself alone with a foodie from far away: our founder, Alex. It was the moment she had been waiting for. Finally she could finally ask that one question that had been on her mind about all these silly Americans that had a way of finding their way to her farm. She mustered up the courage and inquired, “You don’t really eat peanut butter and jam sandwiches in America, do you?“.

She was essentially disgusted by the response.

That moment lives on in this Bon! This isn’t “just plain ‘ol“ peanut butter and jelly. This is the works, done right on every level! It’s the best center bite of the exact (well, chocolate-encased, but isn’t that better?) sandwich we’d make for young Lauren in that very moment to explain every elbow-greased gram of joy of every PB&J that came before it. The homemade jam from a neighbor’s raspberry patch! That time your mom bought a breadmaker in the 90s! The fresh ground honey roasted peanut butter that you discovered with your sister at the food co-op in Ann Arbor! Each item is sourced with love and blended with care to create a layered love letter to a little lady with gusto.

Pairs well with:

A juice box, potato chips, a brown paper bag
