Killer Cereal

It was the year 2014, and everyone was obsessed with Serial, including (maybe especially) us. We listened to it twice, in complete silence, as a group, in production. To this day, it's not uncommon for My Favorite Murder to be playing in the background while we temper chocolate, mold shells, and package your Bons. It was about that time that Killer Cereal came into our lives.

But this Bon isn't SO much about murder — it has more to do with our one and only Mom Mom Mom, AKA our founder's mom, Kathy. When things picked up at the shop, she'd roll up her sleeves and show up, signature Tim Horton's coffee in hand, to help package, greet customers, and give a hug. She became like a mom to many a weirdo hooligan chocolatier from around the world.

Now, Kathy is great, but in the 90s she maintained a strict “no fun cereal unless it's your birthday“ policy. So Alex, our founder, well into her 20s and out of pastry school, had never enjoyed said colorful, sweetened crisp rice breakfast cereal. When she finally did, it reminded her unmistakably of bergamot — one of her favorite things on the planet (there’s a black hole here that we will consciously choose to leave unexplored about Earl Grey Tea). Since our white chocolate isn't too sweet, kind of like a nice cold glass of milk, the stars aligned and a Bon was born. Fruity, bright, bergamot-kissed cereal in some of the best grass fed milk-y white chocolate on the planet. 

But what to call it? That was all Kathy. Thanks, Mom!
