Throwing it back on a Tuesday to some OG Babes after a very long opening day (for our very first store ever!) 😮💨
Opening a store is no small feat—especially when you're a scrappy little chocolate company with big dreams. Even in the early days of Bon Bon Bon, we put our hearts and hands into every detail. Our very first shop? It wasn’t in a fancy retail space or on a bustling shopping street. Nope! It was born in the back of a coney island—yes, that kind of coney island—where the smell of sizzling hot dogs and crispy fries mingled with the scent of fresh chocolate. (For the uninitiated, Detroit-style coneys are legendary)
When we open a shop, it’s not just about unlocking a door and turning on the lights. It’s about finding the perfect spot—one that feels right in the neighborhood, where we can truly be part of the community. It’s about crafting a space that reflects who we are: from making our own display fixtures (DIY really gets our brains going) to stocking the shelves with the very best in good goodies and sweet sweets. Every detail matters, from the way the Bons are displayed to how we welcome you when you step inside.
And let’s be real—the exhaustion is very real. The long nights, the unexpected hiccups (hello, last-minute plumbing issues!), and the moments of "Are we really doing this?" But what keeps us going? You.
There’s nothing like the joy of seeing someone walk through the door and take their first bite of a Bon, their eyes lighting up with that oh wow moment. There’s nothing like the feeling of creating a space where people gather, laugh, and find a little sweet escape in their day. And there’s definitely nothing like being able to see you every single day of the week. That’s what makes our little hearts so happy. ✨🥰
