Ann Arbor Textures

Posted by Mar Manzanares-Brock on

Step inside our Ann Arbor shop, and you’ll find yourself in a world where pastels meet precision, where every shelf is curated like a scene from a movie, and where chocolate-making feels more like a perfectly orchestrated heist—if the heist involved tiny spoons, molten chocolate, and a lot of love.

People often describe our Ann Arbor shop as Wes Anderson-esque—a phrase that conjures up images of symmetry, nostalgia, and a certain kind of delightfully peculiar charm. And honestly? We’ll take it. Because in our world of Bons and boxes, textures and tools, everything has a place, a purpose, and a story.

There’s something about textures that makes the experience of visiting our shop more than just a stop for sweets. It’s a full-sensory adventure:

  • The Loopy Boxes: Our cardboard loopy boxes are an art form in themselves. They bend and cut to size, and cradle each set of Bons like tiny works of art. Sturdy yet soft, tactile yet structured, they make the act of opening a box feel like unwrapping a story.

  • The Bons in Their Cartons: Each Bon sits snugly in pods, in their cartons, waiting to be chosen, much like books on a library shelf or characters in a Wes Anderson ensemble cast—each one unique, each one waiting for its moment in the spotlight.

  • The Tools of the Trade: In our workshop space, you’ll find an array of curious, well-worn tools: water activated tape, water activated tape dispenser, scissors, reusable Bon rubber bands…They all have their place, neatly lined up like props on a set, ready for action.

Wandering into our Ann Arbor shop is like stepping into a scene that’s been waiting for you to arrive. Maybe it’s the color scheme, maybe it’s the way the Bons are lined up just so, or maybe it’s the gentle hum of a space that’s alive with creativity, precision, and a little bit of magic.

whether you’re stopping by to grab a single Bon, a whole box, or just to soak in the atmosphere, know that you’re part of the story. And that story? It’s delicious.
